The bald eagle is the national symbol of the United States and was on the endangered list due to eggshell thinning which was caused by DDT. “DDE and its parent pesticide DDT were used to control mosquitoes and other insects. The chemical was linked to egg shell thinning in bald eagles. It was banned in 1972” (Murray). In 1995 the bald eagle was moved to the threatened species list and was removed from the list in 2007.
Tomahawk The tool I’m writing about is the Tomahawk(small throwing weapon.) pre- columbian tribes need this weapon because it has many different uses. They also need this tool because it is very important to many tribes. The Tomahawk is small.

This is surprising as they have to carry up to 30 pounds of curling horns. Their agility is a critical factor for surviving in death valley. The men hunted buffalo, and small game like ground squirrels, nuts, berries, and steamed camas roots. The ancestors of the Blackfoot Indians was living in buffalo-hide tepees. Native American Mascots in Sports Native American mascots have been around in professional sports since the early 1900s. That is over 100 years! Professional sports teams should keep their Native American mascots because it is a national tradition, and an it honor for the Native Americans and they are mostly not offended. First of all, most Native Americans aren’t offended by the mascot names. High schools across the country have the “offensive” names with portions of their school being Native Americans.

The Great White Shark The Great White Sharks, known mostly because of their white underbellies, are one of the most powerful aquatic animals in the world. They can swim at about 25 Miles Per Hour (40 Kilometers per hour) because of their strong muscles and forceful tails. In addition to that, male Great Whites can grow around 11.5 to 13.1 feet long, while females can grow from 14.8 to 16.4 feet long. This paper will demonstrate how Great White Sharks are an important part of their ecosystem, how their diets work and will adequately describe their habitats. As predators in their ecosystem, Great White sharks help maintain the coral reefs and seagrass habitats.
While most modern Americans are most familiar with the gray wolf, when Europeans first colonized the New World, the red wolf was likely the first wolf species that they came in contact with. Moreover, since the red wolf was the first wolf species that the colonists came into contact with, it was also the first to be persecuted (Hinton et al.). The consequences of this first interaction have ricochet across history as the red wolf was hunted to extinction in 1980. Even now, after extensive interventions to breed the wolves in captivity and reintroduce them, the red wolf is till an endangered species (“Red Wolf” 2017).
