Do you know who Whitney Elizabeth Houston is? She is the most memorable artists in the music industry. She’s had hits such as “I Will Always Love You” , “I Have Nothing” , “I’m Every Woman”, and many more. Whitney Houston was born August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up around music, her mother was a Gospel and R&B singer, Cissy Houston. She had many family members in the music business such as Aretha Franklin, Darlene Love, and Dionne Warwick whom she looked up to. By the time she was 11, Whitney was the soloist of New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. Whitney Houston is a memorable artists because of her background, music, and her strong personality.

She began touring as a back up vocalist with her mom at age 15. Houston also had the chance to perform on some famous recordings, such as the appearance on the 1982 album of Bill Laswell, One Down.
