In 1968, George Romero released Night of the Living Dead, an independent horror film following 7 characters trapped in a rural farmhouse as they are attacked by living dead entities. To most, the film was a landmark that introduced a new kind of monster into the world of horror. To others, the film was viewed as symbolic of the repressed activists within the United States, most notably the Civil Rights and Anti-War movements. L.
