Throughout the book, Fahrenheit 451, the author Ray Bradbury brings the readers into a dystopia type community fast forwarded into the 24th century. The Book is not set in a specific town or city, Bradbury wants us to use our own imaginations of where we think the scenery would take place. The main character that Ray Bradbury bases the book the protagonist named Guy Montag who is 30 years old. Guy Montag takes pride in his profession of being a Firefighter, whose job is to burn illegally owned books and burn down owners houses who had these books in their possession. Until one day Guy started to think about the value of his profession of being a Firefighter and just his life in general. Throughout the novel, Montag struggled with being alive and then eventually leaves his community and finds more people who think like him and he watches from afar, his society crumble into pieces. …show more content…

Guy Montag is considered the main character and protagonist in the novel. When Guy Montag developed a friendship with his 17 year old neighbor, Clarisse McClellan, she has a different way at looking at life than he did, which got Montag to do the same thing. When Guy started looking at life in a different way than before he realized that he doesn’t want to be with his wife Millie anymore because he is unhappy and doesn’t love her like he used to.
