 He was a very humble leader and believed in letting the citizens voice their opinion.
 Many citizens looked up to him and thought of him as a very capable leader.
 He served in the Roman consul which was the highest elected political office in the Roman Republic.
 He was very outgoing and independent. For example, in 138 AD, he was adopted by the highly regarded emperor, Hadrian, and was designated as his successor.
 After his death, the empire suffered due to the lack of his great rule, therefore, the empire suffered invasions by hostile tribes, followed by severe civil strife.

Background  At the very start of Antoninus’s rule, he was referred to by his original name which was Titus Aurelius Fulvius Boionius Arrius Antoninus.

 After 120 AD, Antoninus served in the Consul which held most, if not all of the power in the Roman Empire at the time.
 In addition, Antoninus was considered to be the fourth of “the five good emperors” who obtained control of the empire for an 84 year period.
 Antoninus ruled for a 23 year period from 117 AD to 138 AD.
 Antoninus was assigned by the emperor Hadrian to become emperor.

Educations  Antoninus was brilliantly educated. He learned from the previous leader, Hadrian, who was also a very smart and overall good leader whom Antoninus learned from.
 Since Antoninus was considered to be such a great leader, little happened in history throughout the time that he ruled, thus little is known as too what events occurred during that time period.

Time Period  Throughout the time period Antoninus ruled, the Roman Empire had continued to thrive greatly in many different areas.
 After Antoninus had died, the Roman Empire had begun to suffer greatly due to the lack of Antoninus’s great leadership.
 After Antoninus’s wife had died, Antoninus had created a charitable institution for the poor in effort to help
