Lucretia Mott was a Quaker that lived in the United States. She was also an abolitionist, which means she wanted to abolish slavery. Lucretia supported women’s rights too. She was also a social reformer. She wanted to reform the position of women in society.
Lucretia helped right the Declaration of Sentiments, which was a declaration of independence. She helped give former slaves the right to vote. Lucretia was a quaker preacher. She was born in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She was the second child.
Lucretia’s parents were Anna Folger and Thomas Coffin. When she was thirteen, she went to Nine Partners School. When lucretia graduated, she became a teacher. Lucretia noticed that men were being paid more than women, so she moved to philadelphia. She donated to many charities. Lucretia and other women created anti-slavery fairs so they could raise awareness.
Lucretia arrived at all Anti-Slavery Conventions of American Women. Lucretia had six kids. All but one of her children made it through to infancy. She can stand losing her first son. She supported black suffrage.
