One of the biggest obstacles is the cannibals in this new post apocalyptic world, to the boy and the man they are described and called the “bad guys”. The code of ethics that the man and the boy follow isn't the as the “old world rules” where laws exist, government, and they have to abide by doing right toward others. The code of ethics they follow have to be chosen, and it is a path many don't chose in this “new world”. The man and boy are living just the two of them, not looking to hurt anyone else unless their lives are being threaten and even then the boy doesn't like to hurt others. The man does at time do some things that the boy doesn't like, and can look like he is turning out to become a bad guy, yet it is necessary steps to ensure their safety.
The Lion King portrays the Church in various ways. Mufasa, which can portray Jesus Christ, called people to follow him into his kingdom, Pride Rock; Jesus Christ did the exact same thing during his lifetime, calling disciples and believers to follow him into His Father's kingdom, and to be in a relationship with him. Scar, who can portray the devil, creates havoc between Mufasa and his son, Simba, to make him believe Mufasa had died because of Simba's childish act in playing around past the elephant graveyard, where his father told him never to go. In Disney's The Lion King, the main character, Simba, is a good example of an epic hero. Throughout the course of the movie, Simba displays five epic hero traits. These traits are noble birth, humility, great strength, great courage, and a flaw. At the beginning of the movie, Simba is born to queen Sarabi and king Mufasa. He had a noble birth as his father was the king and his mother was the queen.
Once in our lives, we must embark on a journey to find ourselves. Though the destination may be the essential goal, the real reward is finding the hero within during the journey. Disney’s The Lion King begins with the birth of a lion cub named Simba. After a tragic accident, which kills his father, Mufasa, Simba is forced to run away from his home and his uncle, Scar, takes over Pride Rock.
According to Linda Seger in her essay Creating the Myth, “Myths are the common stories at the root of our universal existence. They’re found in all cultures and in all literature, ranging from the Greek myths to fairy tales, legends, and stories drawn from all of the world's religions.” (par. 5). Understanding this logic, it is crystal clear why the movie Lion king was such a successful Disney movie. After viewed in this viewpoint, Lion King turn out to be much more than a Disney movie about explorations of the young lion.
