Who Is Rorschach Moral In The Comic Watchmen

In the comic Watchmen by Alan Moore, there isn't a clear protagonist or antagonist like there is in other classic comic books. The characters, who struggle with life's many moral and personal challenges including bullying, child abuse, and infidelity, are uncannily human for the genre. The majority lack any kind of superpowers. Their morality and minds are what distinguish them from one another; eventually, each is driven to become a hero by a profound longing to be one. A character's views on morality really give us insight on the personality of this character. Morality is something that changes between different characters and in this comic we see 2 very different sides of morality shown from both characters. He has made it his life's work to eliminate evil from the earth at any cost because he is aware of all the evil around him. His sociopathic personality, the product of an abusive prostitute, is the subject for a while in the book. He feels as though the world is "standing on the brink, staring down into gory hell"(Moore 1). Rorschach does have morals, though. He does have a sense of right and wrong, but it's not the same as everyone else's. He thinks he was "soft on scum" after combating crime while abiding by the law for some one he felt he had just babied. He felt like he was being too easy on them by following the law (Moore 192). After learning this, Rorschach assaults individuals he believes to be evil without restraint, going so far as to shackle a guy to a water pipe, offer him a hacksaw, set fire to his home, and severely advise him, "Shouldn't bother attempting to saw through handcuffs... Never arrive on time (Moore 203). He fights crime with a strict approach, punishing everyone regardless of how serious the offense was. The fact that he is the judge, jury, and executioner of his own morality, however, is what makes him genuinely terrifying. He is entirely self-reliant in deciding who lives and who
