A Code Hero thought of by Ernest Hemingway is, “A man who lives correctly, following the ideals of honor, courage, and endurance in a world that is sometimes chaotic, often stressful, and always painful.” Code heros only do things they are good at. They believe in nothing after life, they live for right now, and everything they do is to make them feel alive and good. They drink alcohol, but never would get sloppy drunk. They do not to commit to women, for women are signs of weakness. They are hubris which means they have excessive pride. Code heros go all in or they don't do it at all. In Ernest Hemingway's book “The Old Man and the Sea”, the main character Santiago is a great example of a code hero. He is a very skilled fisherman and he only fishes because he is capable of catching huge beautiful fish. He is skilled in such a way that he caught a marlin bigger than his boat. He can tell which way he is traveling just by the pull of his line. He is able to stay out in the sea for days fighting a fish that is over 1,000 pounds. Santiago taught Manolian, a young boy who he treats as his own, how to fish as well. Because of Santiago Manolin is also becoming a great fisherman. Santiago would not fish or attempt to teach Manolian if he wasn't good at it, thus making this the first example of how he is a strong code
