The book uncovers the harsh reality of our juvenile system in the 1990’s. The stories in this book seem unreal, but the sad thing is that every word that was written was a true story. No Matter How Loud I Shout covers seven kids’ stories of just one year of their life in the juvenile system, a deputy district attorney who wants justice for the victims, a judge who wants to scare these kids into doing good, and a sister who wants the best for these kids and to see them succeed. The juvenile justice system is so messed up that only three of the seven were saved, one did not get punished properly due to his age, and the rest were failed by the system and ended up where they never thought they would, prison. One of the success stories was Carla James.
All he could do was sit, suffering at home all day long, every day. John’s anger wasn’t only affecting himself, but it was rubbing off on his family. His sons started to pick fights in school all the time. His wife tried to tell him to get his frustration under control before things got worse. John claims, "I was angry and I planned to stay angry until I got back at the bastards who did this to me.
The lead singer of Twenty One Pilots, Tyler Joseph uses pathos, tone change and shift in order to emphasize the true reality of adulthood because he is demonstrating the acts of being older to his intended audience. “Stressed Out“ is about the transition from childhood to adulthood. The music is varied with a wide range of styles being jammed into the only 3:45 song, in which Tyler and Josh, the two singers, revisit their childhood homes to ride their old three wheelers and perform in their old bedrooms which they first discovered their passion for music. But most interesting of all, the lyrics of “Stressed Out” have even deeper meaning to the text compared to those of the remaining songs from Blurryface, the new album that was released.
There are days where they go without eating and are thrown multiple complications as they struggle to become stable. Although this does not necessarily happen due to the fact that the family is always moving from place to place, sometimes leaving everything behind. This memoir should be the recommended book for summer reading due to that fact that it gives an exclusive view of the flawed life of the author providing the reader with an idea of how living in a dysfunctional family does not have to hold you back from success, it also acts as a huge reminder to the audience that the life they are living should not be taken for granted and should be embraced to the greatest extent.
This book contains a report on Los Angeles State Juvenile Justice System court written by Edward Humes, the Pulitzer Prize award winner, nonfiction, and true crime writer. Out of all the twelve books he has written, five of them involve the criminal justice system, used mostly in criminal studies field. “No Matter How Loud I Shout” is the main book that examined the complicated life of the juvenile justice system, reporting the stories of several juvenile offenders and the juvenile justice officials. More especially, how they direct the arbitrary laws of the juvenile justice system. Humes, in this book, delivers an excellent, in-depth, eye-opening, informative, and often depressing account of what goes on behind the closed doors of America
A family contains young minds that are at first taught the building of personality or character and controlling the emotions of him or herself, while also being taught how to set goals for life (Ritter) But as new generations came of age, the family became a weakened and fractured unit as husbands and wives gave way to the human nature of adultery in a widespread manor. Here in America, the family has been under constant assault and broken marriages and broken households are now a normal thing to see. Few fathers show the guidance and teaching to their children that is needed often requiring the mother to take on both roles. As children grow up being more spoiled and pampered to, they are never learning to accept and recover from setbacks.
Family is one of the most sacred and wonderful groups in the world, but the effects on its members are not universally positive. Sometimes, ordinary family bonds are broken, and the family unit becomes an agent of great destruction. Within abnormal situations like these, we can often see more clearly a person ’s problem solving ability. Due to a lack of support from family members, they can be sent into more primitive instincts of survival.
With much of the world becoming focused on individual goals and ideas, it is necessary to remember the importance of family relationships. Through family bonds, people may find support that they would not find anywhere else, giving them the strength to push through difficult situations. The support that family relationships provide may be seen with an example from my own life as well as from Elie Wiesel’s novel Night. Family can be very crucial when it comes to dealing with tough situations in life.

Chelsea admits that she still feels as if she is a child in his presence. The father belittles and patronizes her at every opportunity. Through the lens of the family systems theoretical orientation, the focus is on patterns that develop in families to defuse the tension and anxiety. According to Brown (1999), a key generator of stress in families is the perception of either too much closeness or too much distance in a relationship. The degree of anxiety in this family can be determined by the current levels of external stress and the sensitivities to particular themes that are transmitted through the generations.
