Frankenstein Paper In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley the protagonist Victor Frankenstein is a shallow and impulsive scientist who brought a creature to life in his image of a perfect being. Victor believes his discovery and resurrection of the creature would be scientifically monumental and would lead to greater scientific discoveries. Victor portrays the creature as a repulsive monster who brings nothing but evil upon the world and humanity. The creature is rejected and eschewed by mankind continually throughout the novel. The creature is characterized as an outcast and is ostracized by society. Víctor devotes his time and sanity into creating the creature, only to later abandon him. The unnecaptance from Victor leaves the monster with emotions that he has never experienced before, and is left to sort these feelings on his own. If the cottagers the creature had done so much for could not accept him, how could the creature accept himself if all the creature knew was that he was a horrific being that nobody cared for. The creature has no sense of belonging in the world or within himself. Not only does the creature not accept himself, but this also leads to the stunt in the creature's psychological growth. “ I am alone and miserable; man will not associate with me; but one as deformed and horrible as myself would not deny herself to me.
