What killed Hamlet?
Did you notice that in every play, there is typically a hero that saves everyone else, but they end up dying? That trend has stayed the same in the play, that’s known worldwide, called Hamlet. Hamlet is a popular play written by Shakespeare. This play is a revenge tale in which Hamlet goes through a journey to avenge his father’s death. Hamlet’s perception on the situation, is different than everyone else’s. Hamlet goes through internal struggle, because of his inaction for his father. This leads people to believe he is crazy. Hamlet was the tragic hero, but wrong timing led to his ruin.

Others say he should just believe the ghost. Some even argue saying he is crazy that he even saw the ghost. While these are all opinions, they are too one-sided. Just because you see a ghost doesn’t make you crazy and the reason why he didn’t kill him while he was praying was because that would’ve been a straight path for Claudius to go to Heaven. He has had many red flags saying that Claudius is the killer. Hamlet wanted to make sure so he came up with a plan. He added several lines to a play that the king went to, just to get a reaction out of the king. It worked because Claudius freaked out and this confirmed Hamlet’s suspicions. Claudius knows that Hamlet is on to him so he tried to send Hamlet to England. If Claudius thought Hamlet was only crazy, he would’ve just sent him off and not worried about it. He wanted him executed because he knew that Hamlet was on to him. The action that Hamlet accidentally took on Polonius was an eye-opener to everyone. This showed that Hamlet intended to kill Claudius. Later on, during act v, there was a duel set up by Claudius (this was plan a that was stated earlier). Laertes and Hamlet are to fight and whoever was alive, was victorious. Keep in mind that Laertes’ sword was tampered with so that he could end Hamlet quicker.
