First, Ralph believes he and the group of boys will be rescued. “We want to be rescued; and of course we shall be rescued” (Golding 51). The boys are better off believing that they will be rescued, because this makes them work harder to stay alive. These people are brave and intelligent in speaking their minds. Ralph’s group is a part of the few that spoke out against Jack, the oppressive leader. They knew what Jack was doing was wrong and did not join Jack’s group.

I relate to Ralph because in the novel, Lord of the Flies, Ralph is shown as natural leadership qualities, while at the same time the average social and civilized teenage boy. I was a co-captain of my middle school dance team, therefore leadership skills come easily to me. He is sufficiently intelligent and also demonstrates obvious common since, this is an example of another similarity between the two of us. In addition to that, Ralph represented leadership and civilization. Throughout the book he strained to keep order between the boys and to bring them together as one in order to be rescued.
A person capable of ending the hardships for society is often considered a leader. A leader possesses qualities necessary to determine actions and gain control of the society. Being optimistic, fair and confident are necessary traits a leader must possess to become a successful and strong leader. Ralph in Lord of the Flies possesses and demonstrates these specific qualities throughout the novel. Ralph’s powerful actions show his strong leadership role, making him a more capable leader than Jack.
Imagine a world without order. A world without leadership, no rationality whatsoever. Take Ralph's character away from the equation and William Golding's Lord of the Flies would be a factory manufacturing chaos. In the novel, an airplane shot down while carrying a group of British schoolboys, Ralph the protagonist elicits strong leadership when the boys improvise a mini-civilization. Golding validates the stereotypical archetype while portraying an everyday likable boy through his leadership, mentality, and expedient success.
At every school, there’s those “cool boys”. The football players, the ones who sprint through the hallways and knock people into walls. Upon looking at them, one might wonder: How did they end up like this? In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, a group of adolescent, immature boys end up stranded on a deserted island and are simultaneously thrown into the fight for power and survival. Ralph, one of the first characters introduced in the novel, and a lot of his struggle in the book is fighting for power with the typical, cookie-cutter “cool boy” one might see at a modern-day school.

In the novel Lord of the Flies, there are various types of leaderships evident. Ralph and Jack are two of the main characters in the book, who both show a great sense of leadership on the island and towards the boys. Ralph being a democratic leadership, and Jack being a dictatorial leadership. First the fact that Ralph was a democratic leader will be discussed and proven with evidence.
In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies there are many people that I can relate to but there is one specific one that acts the most like me. The one that I share many traits with is Ralph. I am extremely athletic and charismatic exactly like Ralph. Ralph also loves being the leader of the boys and I like being the leader as long as there are people here to listen to me.
The protagonist, in the story Lord of the Flies written by William Golding, is a young English boy named Ralph. The author introduces him as only a child, adventurous, bold, and lighthearted. He carries with him young innocence and expectations, believing that adults will always come to save the day. His simplistic thinking shows that he is a sheltered child, who is far from attaining full maturity. His character represents the order and good morals in the story, as he attempts to maintain rules and civilization despite his unfortunate situation.
I do believe that the main character changed by the end of the book, although some other characters changed a bit more, I still believe that Ralph changed drastically during the entire span of the book. Ralph, I believe that he starts out as an optimistic and calm boy, and with confidence in himself and that they are going to find a way off the island and a way back home. But, during chapter nine, a savage side shows while he joins the boys chanting about the pig. He only realizes, that later, he never should have participated in the cruel and horrifying act, because of how frightened the whole scene made him. As for what kind of character I believe Ralph is, I believe he is a dynamic character because he does change in his physical appearance(being
