The star crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet are entirely to blame for their tragic deaths. The love story of Romeo and Juliet occurred so suddenly and hastened that they didn’t fully comprehend the consequences of their actions. Their relationship was extremely forbidden by their feuding families and their secret marriage was a major contribution to their deaths. Romeos actions were so impulsive and his feelings towards Juliet were so extravagant, consequently resulting in their romances violent conclusion. From the moment Romeo’s eyes met Juliet’s, he knew that she was the love of his life and he wanted to be with her forever. His feelings were extremely strong so early in their love story, and this resulted in foolish actions. Friar Lawrence even tried to warn him that his hasty decisions would have morbid consequences. Friar Lawrence suggested she take a potion which allows her to appear dead for 48 hours, however when she took the “distilled liquor” to fool her family, she did not consider the possible outcomes. She considered how the plan could end badly for her but didn’t once consider how her ‘death’ would affect anyone else, especially Romeo. She should have double checked and ensured that Romeo had received the letter entailing her plan before she drank the potion in the vile. Unfortunately Romeo didn’t receive the letter so when he saw Juliet lying ‘dead’ in the tomb he was so distraught and couldn’t bear to live without her that he ended his own life.
