Between The Montagues and Capulets. Lord Montagues and Lord Capulets do not Know what the feud is about. Romeo and Juliet recognize they are going against their parents wishes. Tybalt goes after Romeo and Mercutio because of the feud. The first reason the feud is responsible for the tragedy is that Lord Capulet and Lord Montague do not know what the feud is about. Romeo says “Draw your sword, Benvolio; make them drop their weapons!... The prince has specifically banned this brawling in Verona’s streets! Stop Tybalt! Good Marcutio-[He steps between them Tybalt shielded by Romeo, wounds Mercutio]” (3.1.137). In the first fight Tybalt and Marcutio do not know why Romeo is trying to bring about peace and Tybalt stabs Marcutio to refuse Romeo’s proposal. Romeo says “[Pulling out his sword] This will decide that! [They fight furiously Romeo’s sword strikes home and Tybalt falls dead. Romeo stands transfixed].”(3.1.141). In the second fight Tybalt attacks Romeo and Romeo Quickly kills him for Mercutio's death and for refusing Romeo Proposal. The reason the two fight is an example of why the feud is responsible for the tragedy is that Tybalt attacked Romeo and Mercutio because they went to only the capulet party and Tybalt sees them there but Lord Capulet lets them go. If this did not happen Romeo would not have been banished and Lord Capulet may not have tried to get Juliet to marry Paris. This is the third and final of many reasons that the feud is
