For instance, the kids do not have the best education, house equipment, clothing and so on. For me, I have everything they could imagine to be honest and perhaps even the adults as well. This quote is said a lot during the holiday that we are in now, Thanksgiving. It is telling us that no matter how hard things really seem to be, there is always something that we can be thankful for. For example, if someone is having a rough time everyday of their life struggling to stay alive and healthy, they do have something to be thankful for. The people everyone sees on the streets asking for money have something to be thankful for. They should be thankful for having the chance to be alive at that moment.
Thanksgiving means to me that when the family gets together to eat and have conversations. We usually watch the Dallas Cowboys play. Most of time there is an abundant amount of food. We either go to more than one house or we switch houses every year. Imagine every person in the world having to do multiple things at one time. For example, imagine having to work on homework, but also help your friend with something important. Sounds rough, right? One thing I am thankful for had to be my concussion, sounds strange right? Well we all have our stories but mine started during my freshman year basketball game. Going into the game, I thought we were walking out with an easy win because we played this team before and won. First lesson, don’t ever be cocky in a sport because it will bite you back. Of course, my team decided we were not going to take the game too serious since we won before and karma caught up with us really fast.
My grandma says the feast is done cooking are you guys ready to eat? My family goes to the table and looks at all the amazing food. After everyone is seated we pray and everyone says something they are thankful for. That feast I remember saying that I was thankful for my mom and dad. I saw the food and I grabbed the mashed potatoes because those were always my favorite thing at Thanksgiving.
My Catholic education means so much to me, because if I did not have it I would not be the person I am today. I am so glad that I have the ability to attend a Catholic school, and also attend mass each week. Not everyone has the opportunity to attend a Catholic school and learn many things like I do. Without my Catholic education I would not be able to attend school mass each week with my friends, have religion class and learn about my faith everyday, and most importantly, I would not be able to talk about my faith and God freely in religion class or with my friends. Being able to attend mass each week is just one of the things that I am thankful for.
