Dress code can also be used as a means to identify employees. Having a company uniform makes it easier for customers to find employees so that they can get assistance. For example, Walmart requires their employees to wear a blue vest and a name badge in order to make them easily identifiable. Without these uniforms, it would be hard for consumers to find workers to get the help they need. As a result, this could lose the company money over a situation that could have been avoided. Some people could argue that dress codes can be expensive. In the case of dress codes for safety, clothing items like steel toed boots can cost hundreds of dollars for a single pair. On the business attire side, suits and dresses get extremely expensive. Both can go for hundreds of dollars and an employee needs to have quite a few clothing options.
