Electrolytes are important to the human body, because electrolytes contain minerals that are essential to life. Electrolytes are minerals found in blood and other fluids in the body that carry an electrical charge. Electrolytes are important for distribution of water, heart rate, delivery of oxygen to body tissues, balancing acid bases and etc.There are several types of electrolytes in the body that have their own roles. Most electrolytes are responsible in maintaing the balance of fluids in intracellular and extracellular environments. Electrolytes consists of salts which are important to the cells in the body because salt help regulate cells. However, it comes with consequences, the more salt in the body, the cells will begin to shrivel.
