The fire was fierce and were guided by the little kids screaming and coughing for help. When Ponyboy and Johnny found the kids they immediatley, one by one picked up the kids and threw them out of a opening in a window. A few minutes later Dally had joined them throwing Ponyboy first, then Johnny and just in time before the entire church had collapsed on them. Shortly after the ambulances came and took the three greasers quickly to the hospital. Ponyboy was the first to wake up, Dally had clubbed him very hard because his whole back was on
In the book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton, there is a conflict between two Greasers and five Socs. The Greasers are named Ponyboy and Johnny. These boys were hanging with two girls named Cherry and Marcia. These girls are the girlfriends of Bob and Randy who are part of the Socs. During the conflict Bob and Randy come with the 3 other unknown Socs around 2:30.
Ponyboy and his brothers live on the poor side of town. They are called greasers and are not as privileged as the Socs who live on the rich side of town. Being a greaser is difficult because they are the lowest class. The Socs often harass and beat up the greasers. In the beginning of the story, Pony gets beat up by a group of Socs.
They then introduced themselves and said that their names were Cherry Valance and Marcia. After that had happened Two-Bit decided to scare Pony and Johnny so after that they had all agreed that the Johnny Pony and Two-Bit were going to walk Cherry and Marcia to their houses they then are stopped by their boyfriends and so then they go with them and the Socs leave. Two-Bit had then said good-bye and Johnny and Pony went to Johnny’s house and heard their parents fighting so they then run off to the lot and fall asleep It is now two in the morning and Darry was furious and so they got in a fight and then Darry hits Pony and then after that Johnny and Pony run away then get jumped by the gang of Socs and all of the sudden Johnny kills one of them and they run to Dally and Dally tells them to go to the abandoned church until the cops stop searching. After that Dally visits them and takes them to DQ and when they get back there is a fire at the church and there were kids in their so Johnny and Pony decide to go in to save them and Johnny sudden gets hit by a piece of flaming wood and he ends up in the hospital and then it starts a rumble with the Socs and Greasers and then moments later Johnny is dead and Dally couldn’t take it
Although, let us examine two for each. The first similarity that was noticed is about the drive in. Dally bugs Cherry and Marcia rejects him. Also at the drive in Cherry and Marcia walk away from bob and his friends. They were intoxicated and stupid.

One night Ponyboy goes out with his buddies Johnny and Dally were they sneak into a drive in movie, where they see 2 girls. Ponyboy starts talking to one of the girls cherry who tells him”things are rough all over. ”(35) Ponyboy doesn't believe this though because he thinks money can solve all their problems. Cherry was trying to tell ponyboy that everyone has problems even ones he has never heard of before.
Secondly, in one scene Johnny (greaser) kills Bob (Socs) because the Socs were going to drown Ponyboy and beat Johnny, so he took his pocket knife and stabbed him. Just like Romeo
Both Socs and Greasers go to the same school, though they are more Socs than greasers because some greasers had dropped out. They live in the same neighborhood, just on separate sides of town. With all the fighting between Socs and Greasers, some Greasers and Socs have peace with each other and don’t fight such as the Socs, Cherry Valance with all the greasers. Cherry is a popular Socs and cheerleader who began hanging out with all the Greasers when she met Ponyboy and Johnny at the movie house. Even though Cherry hangs out with mostly Greasers she still has friendships with some Socs in her neighborhood.
Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally are Greasers. For the first time, the Greasers received some praise. Imagine 3 people Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally who are all low life greasers finally received some praise for saving a bunch of kids and putting their lives on the line. When Johnny and Ponyboy rescue the kids from the fire in the abandoned church where they were hanging out, Dally rescues Johnny. Later, the papers
Even though the Socs seem to have it all, they also face rough times. In an important event, Ponyboy's friend Johnny is hurt badly by some Socs, showing how violent the fights betweeen the two groups can be. This shows that even if you seem to have verything, you can still have rouble and danger. The Socs may have stuf and money, but they still have to deal with the problems that come from fighting with the greasers.
As Ponyboy was getting attacked, the rest of the Greasers (Dally, Steve, Darry, Sodapop, Two-Bit, and Johnny) showed up at the scene to protect Ponyboy. The gang had successfully outnumbered and scared the Socs off by hurling rocks at them, saving Ponyboy. This shows that the gang takes pride in making sure that they are together when tensions rise. One night Ponyboy Johnny and Dallas decided to go to the drive through movies. The boys sneak into the movies and being the trouble Dallas starts messing with these two Socs girls. Socs are kids who lived on the nicer side of town. They are the popular kids in school and they are more wealthy then the Greasers. Making the two fight and not get along.
Then there 's the Greasers, who live poorly and get blamed for most of the things that go down in the city. Ponyboy, and Johnny, two Greasers, that at first, clang to the fact that they hated Socs. All they wanted to do was fight the other gang to look tough and earn respect. In the beginning of the story, Ponyboy wishes he looked tough.
Cherry’s recognition of Ponyboy being “more than just a greaser” leaves Ponyboy thinking about how the two gangs aren 't so different, “We aren 't in the same class. Just don’t forget that some of us watch the sunset too” (pg 46 S.E. Hinton). Ponyboy’s conversation with Cherry fulfills him briefly until he realizes they are in different gangs and cannot stay
