For my first essay, I was assign to do some research about what people know and what do they think about Black Lives Matter. We had to give people a survey were they had to answer some questions honestly. If someone didn’t knew about black lives matter there were other questions that they can answer. As I was going around asking people if they can fill out the survey. I didn’t decide on whom should fill my survey. Whether it should be teachers, student, or a specific gender. I just went to people who I assumed where not busy. I didn’t feel uncomfortable or shy speaking to people because I am a sociable person and it’s also part of my daily job to come up to people and speak with them. As soon as class and ended I enter my theatre class. Where I saw Yamilex, asking one of our older fellow classmates if she can do the survey. This reminded me that I had to do my papers too. I felt as if some people didn't care for the paper. I say this because I had people not even reply to question five or six. Which was basically stating your own opinion. I think they should have just said “no, sorry, I don’t want to waste your paper”. I was very surprise at one of my colleagues answer for question number four. It says, “On a scale of 0- 10 (0= I don’t care at all), please rate how much you care about “Black lives matter” and their concerns.” He actually circled “0” I think he should of I least circled one or two so it won’t make him seem so cold hearted.
At first, I didn’t know that Black Lives Matters was a movement. I honestly thought it was just a book or a paragraph, which we were going to potentially read in class. I read in one of the surveys and a student wrote “When something happens to blacks in the news they came out with the slogan Black live Matter.” I understood immediately because a lot of things have been happening to African American’s for no reason just because of their skin
