Why are some people seemingly born with a lot of success e.g. Bill Gates, Tiger Woods etc.:

Because of His sovereignty, the Lord can bless whom He wants to bless and curse whom He wants to curse. Sometimes the Lord blesses a person because He wants to use that specific person as an example for something that the Lord wants to demonstrate among people on Earth. Sometimes historical generations may have sinned against God and as a result He may also choose to punish future generations for those historical sins. We cannot choose whom God should bless. God is sovereign and does as He wills and according to His ways that are above our ways as humans.

No. You can have many expressions of purpose but the essence of who you are remains the same. At a basic level my purpose is to create order in lives of people. Whatever my role, I find the chaos and bring the order. I do this when I

No. You can have many expressions of that purpose but still only one purpose. It helps if you make the distinction between role and purpose. My role as a father has changed over the years from when my children were small to now that they are adults. I also had a role as an electrical engineer, which I fulfilled for a number of years, but no longer do. Yet my essence that enables me to create order never changes, no matter what role I play at different stages of my life.

What advice do you have for a husband and wife pursuing purpose?

I seldom see one person’s purpose defined in terms of another, unless there is a severe disability or handicap that necessitates a spouse, sibling, or parent to devote much time to the care of their partner or child. In other words, a wife’s purpose isn’t to help her husband or raise her children. A woman has purpose before she marries or has children and will have purpose long after the children are gone or her husband departs this
