Colonist are going to live in a new place that they have never lived before, will they survive? It is the year of 1607, 100 or more passengers were on a ship and they were sailing to Chesapeake Bay.Many colonists are dying and they don’t know the reason why. Many colonists died because of the water, they didn’t have any skills, and because of their relationships.

If there was not that much freshwater they could have died because they could have drink some of the water, and if you drink too much salt water you can die. “ ….dug shallow wells to supply themselves with sources of drinking water, but these were vulnerable to droughts,” (Doc A). If the water was vulnerable to drought what were they suppose to drink of the water was vulnerable. “.... where filth introduced into the river tended to fester rather than flush away,”(Doc A). If it was festering and not getting flushed away then there could have been something in the water that may have caused a disease. If there is a communicable disease then they will be passing it and it could have been a reason so many colonist died. It there was not that much water what were they suppose to drink, you need water to survive. You need water to wash your hands. If you don’t wash your hand you don’t know what kind of bacteria got in your hands. You can eventually die if you get a bad bacteria. That was one reason why many colonist
