In 1861, Texas was involved in the fighting of the Civil War. The Civil War was composed of the Confederate States of America, or the Confederacy, and the United States of America, or the Union. So the question is, why did Texas take part in the Civil War? Well, Texas fought in the Civil War for their love for Texas, to protect state’s rights, and to protect slavery in the South. One of the reasons Texas fought in the Civil War was because of their love for Texas. Many citizens felt that it was only right to fight for Texas, because Texas comes first.
