The colonists had one interest. They wanted to be treated fairly. However, they believed the new laws were unfair, so they took action. The colonists resisted and wanted to be free because they thought the British weren’t treating them the way they should be treated.
During the 1760s the British Parliament decided to pass many laws and taxes on the American Colonists. They did this because they were in debt from the French and Indian War. The colonists did not like these laws and created conflict with Great Britain. This conflict is what started the American Revolution. The American Colonists protested against the laws they thought were unfair.
The colonists had Authority for so long, until the British decided that they would intervene. The colonist had grown used to not being controlled so heavily, so when the British had stepped in they were against it completely. Because Britain had begun to put its hand in America’s business more often, the Colonists had begun to find this frustrating. Thus, creating the ideas and thoughts of forming a rebellion against the British. Soon after the Sugar Act of 1764 the Stamp Act of 1765 had been imposed, and this greatly affected the colonists.
The colonists were mistreated from the start the British forced them to pay their war debts basically and controlled them harshly this caused the colonists to rise up and take back power. These events eventually led to the American Revolution and colonists
Imagine of your friend used you to copy off of your homework, and you feel like you are not getting anything in return. How would you feel? That is exactly how the colonists felt with Britain. The angry colonists wanted to start a revolution against Britain because their unalienable rights were being intruded in their own country. They were used to salutary neglect, but the tight control the British had over them angered the colonists.
The American Revolution was a product of British taxation on the colonists. First, the colonists were very upset with Britain after they passed the Stamp Act. The colonists refused to submit to a king that was only interested in their money, causing the colonists to become irate with the British once more. Since Great Britain thought that it was superior to the colonies, Great Britain did not give colonists the opportunity to speak up for what they wanted, which lead the colonists to rebel. The arrogance of Great Britain led to the rebellion of the colonists, which sparked the Revolutionary War through social, economic, and political actions. Furthermore, Great Britain caused a tremendous amount of irritation to develop inside of the colonists. The Revolutionary War showed that it is a necessity for Americans to have their opinions voiced.
Since Britain was able to tax the colonists to make money for the French and Indian war the colonists started rebelling because they did not want to be taxed for items that they used everyday. Britain also had a lot of power by being able to regulate trade which frustrated the colonists. In letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania, (1767-1768) by John Dickinson it says "There is another late act of Parliament which appears to be unconstitutional, and destructive to the liberty of these colonies. The parliament unquestionably possesses a legal authority to regulate the trade of Great Britain, and all her colonies.” (Doc 2).
Upon the eve of the Revolution, the colonists had spent several years growing tiresome of British rule and preparing themselves to revolt. They had become united under the goal of attaining freedom and had developed their own personality, which was different from any found in Europe. Additionally, Britain treated the colonies with disrespect, thus increasing their desire to separate themselves. In the years leading up to the American Revolution, the colonists united through their desire for freedom and developed into their own people seeking freedom from an oppressive British rule. The main reason the colonists wanted to rebel was because Britain was treating them poorly and abusing them.
During the first years of the English settlements of North America the people who immigrated from England they formed colonies that with the support of the British government. The colonist didn 't pay a lot of taxes on their trading benefits to the government. Through the years, the King and the parliament started raising taxes on almost everything that the colonist was producing in the colonies. The colonists weren 't happy with the new taxation that the king was charging to the colonies, and it led the colonist to protest at British empire. The British government was not looking for the best of the people. They were only thinking about what they wanted; the government was not interested in what the people wanted so they decided to make decisions on their own, which resulted in changes that form the United States today. Because of this, they were justified in rebelling and declaring independence. One reason why the colonists decided to rebel and declare independence was because of taxation.
They put taxes on things such as paper, sugar, and even tea, which angered the colonist because they were not will to pay tax without representation in the government. These events ultimately caused the colonist to revolt against the British monarchy and declare its independence. A revolution is a radical change in society and its social structure. The American Revolution was revolutionary because it transformed America politically and socially; however, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness weren’t necessarily improved for the all people in this revolution.
More than 150 years under British rule, the 13 colonies in America struggled to receive independence. However, the British government passed many laws and took actions which the colonists then felt that it was very unfair. Here is the causes of the American Revolution. They were also divided because imported printing goods were being taxed.
