UNIT 9 P3 and M2 ADVERTISING AGENCIES: Business and organization that plans, creates and settle advertisements for their customers is an advertising agency. The agency is not part of the original company and hence they can recommend an outside opinion about the advertisements the company wants. However once the work for the advert has started, the company has less to say to the organization since the agencies are independent. Also, the entire marketing department about the company can be handled by the advertising agency or the adverts for a particular advert about a product could be settled through contracts. The customers for these agencies could be profit and nonprofit making organizations and government sources.
The case of Michael Brown, Samuel DuBose, and Laquan McDonald, are all examples of what we see today in the world of officer vs civilian. Not just any race civilian but those of color predominantly known as African Americans. The events we have witnessed over and over again “ I thought he had a gun” “I feared for my life” always pointing a finger to someone who didn 't even have a criminal record. The story of having to defend oneself, is a well known excuse throughout many brutality cases. Officers fail to notice that, the citizens can tell the difference from defense and cruelty.
“Black Lives Matter “is a recent example of Black Rhetoric within the media. Dating back to the unfortunate events that took place in Ferguson with the shooting of a young black male named Michael Brown, the even has grown infamously and famously depending on which side you tend to agree with. Countless people have given their input on the situation and not all blacks tend to agree with the movement of “Black Lives Matter”. Recently a women named Peggy Hubbard went on a rant about how she felt the movement was an unjust movement. Ms. Hubbard stated that saying black lives matter was implying that no other lives within the community mattered.
In “Shooting Kabul” by N.H. Senzai, the low social status of Fadi, the twelve year-old protagonist, and his family, affects the plot greatly. His family’s inability to solve their problems is caused by their lack of money. Their social class and class issues decrease the speed of their progress of finding Mariam, the missing daughter. If they had a higher social class and more money, they would've been able to expedite the process of finding Mariam, and do it with less difficulty. In the book Fadi and his family are trying to escape from Afghanistan to the U.S.A. During their escape, and in the stressful setting, Fadi loses his grip with Mariam.
From the time Richard was born to the present day, there have been many advances in black equality, but racism and discrimination are still very apparent in our society today. There has been an increase in black pride and the encouragement for blacks to advance in social status, but a majority of blacks still remain in the bottom sector of the economic and social class. Richard Wright was born after the Civil War, but before the Civil Rights Movement. If he were writing an autobiography today about a black boy growing up in the United States, he would write about the positive increase of African American pride and empowerment, but also the unjust and sanctioned police brutality, and the growing poverty among most blacks.
This shows that black people of the community want to join hands with colors of all ethnicity. The Black Live Matters association is also all about the kids. They also help student become officers or actually help them peruse a career at rec centers.(wired.com). It also allows struggling races from all backgrounds are welcome in the environment. Black lives matter also raises college funds, sport programs and food it is not just white vs black.
The Black Lives Matter was founded in 2013 by three African American women. It’s another social justice that has made national news for their cause. Black Lives Matter is just more than a social movement. It is an out cry for help, as a nation, as a whole. Black Lives Matter is a community.
History is made by those who have the courage to change the world. Black history month is not simply just February. It’s the suffering, the pain, the blood and the tears. It’s the marks they have left on the world. Black History Month is an opportunity to celebrate those who have led the path and broken barriers.
Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders was interrupted by Black Lives Matter protesters for the second time in Seattle, Washington on August 8th, 2015; the incident involved heated confrontation and was largely reported on as an attack on Bernie Sanders’ campaign. Two African-American women stormed the stage, demanding to be allowed time to speak and threatening to shut down Sanders’ event. The two were members of Black Lives Matter, a social activist group fighting violence towards African Americans. Unfortunately, due primarily to the negative reactions of the crowd, many news outlets reported on the effects of Black Lives Matter on Sanders’ campaign rather than on the message that was pushed by the protesters. This lack of focus on the critical
I feel as though every time I look up I see the same heartbreaking headline: Black Person Killed by Cop. It seems as if the unjustified killing will never end, and to make matters worse, our supposed protectors, the men in blue are not even being charged for the murder of these people, or if they do, the time they serve is little to nothing. We have all seen the videos, the evidence that would put anyone else in jail for quite some time, and yet these vile actions go unpunished. There have been far too many cases of police brutality and not enough justice for black citizens. The fear that black people cannot go on, and racial profiling must end so that we can live our lives in peace.
From what I’ve researched 31.9% of African-Americans were shot and killed while unarmed. People that think just because they a badge and a uniform saying “Police”, they can do whatever they want. There are a lot of other good Officers though, in fact I know some. But they don’t think they’re above the law. It can be used with racial profiling.
This is what started the Blue Lives Matter movement, a movement for police officers to be protected. Due to a spike in police deaths the government imposed harsher laws against assaulting, harming, or killing a police officers. The BLM community is concerned because they feel like they are taking a step backwards in the relationships between the community and its people with the local police officers. Lots of people are saying that the movement is unjust because they believe that “All Lives Matter,” but the movement is just simply pointing out that African Americans are being wrongfully targeted and killed. The movement is trying to prove that all of our lives should be equal not one life is better than the
It seems that the officers who fear black males, as the study presented before suggests, are allowed to shoot their weapons out of fear because the courts are protecting them. It is a police officer’s duty to be brave and not to act out of fear, but it seems as if the officers that are involved in killing these unarmed black men are only acting out of fear. There are so many cases where officers are acquitted or their charges are dropped. This has to do with the absence of video evidence and every police officer claiming that they were acting in
Why do cops kill for no reason? In the month between May and June more than 4 people in every state was getting killed by a cop (Dilascio) .Police Brutality is excessive force or use of a weapon against a civilian. This issue is important to society because people need to know the law and how it works. Congress passed a law that really does not hold any weight it’s called “police misconduct” but this isn’t hitting the main point of Police Brutality.
Over the past few years police officers in the U.S have killed many black teenagers. Police officers use over excessive force on black people for no reason. They discriminate against black people because of the stereotype that terms them as drug dealers and gangsters when most of them are not, most of them are just normal people. Most black people do live in ghettos where there are a lot of crimes, but it
