Nolan Williams Chapter 7 1. Describe the boar hunt in relation to Ralph. The boar hunt represents Ralph’s first hunt and he too begins to show some animal Instincts. 2. Why does jack show off his “battle scar”? He shows it off so that he can prove that he was personally fighting the boar. 3. What is the cruel game the boys play after the hunt? They pretend to hunt a boy named Robert, badly beating him and almost killing him? 4. Why does Ralph break the game up? He feels sorry for the boy and feels the game has gone too far. 5. At which point does our society feel that similar games should be stopped? I believe that as a society, we are so overprotected that the line would be drawn before the game even began. 6. The mood is cheerful for those there, but ominous from the reader’s point of veiw. 8. Why does Ralph show a sense of belonging within this group? It shows that he also features some of the same animal instincts as the others. 9. What really is the “beast” that the boys sight on their trek? The “beast” is the parachute from the dead soldier.
