Climbing Everest, going to this extraordinary place or that extraordinary place, breaking a world record. These all sound pretty great until you hear about the impact that these dreams have on others. Many people have tried to accomplish their unreasonable dreams and have not succeeded. They rely on rescue services to help them after they put themselves in danger. Despite that some people choose to earn a living saving others, people should not be saved when they put themselves at risk because of the cost there is to save others, that people still want to accomplish their dreams when they were inexperienced, and they risk rescue service worker’s safety while they are being rescued. They are putting themselves in a perilous situation. For this, they should not have people there to rescue them. In “Why Everest?” the author Guy Moreau stated, “...they may not be skilled enough. Nobody doubts their strength and fitness, but they may not know enough about mountaineering and the hazards that high altitudes preset.” People are not experienced enough so they put themselves at risk trying to accomplish their goals. They should know their abilities before they go. Whether they know that are ready to go or not, they should know that they can accomplish or find out what they can. When they still put themselves in a risky position they should not be saved by rescue services. Also in the “Seattle Times” article, it is stated that, “The climbers who fell into the crevasse had slipped in their decent down Emmons Glacier…” Even though it is not the hiker's fault that they slipped, they could have been better prepared for something like that to happen. And preparation comes back to experience. If the climbers were more experienced than they would have known to wear better boots or carry better equipment that didn’t allow them to slip. They believe rescue services should be provided because people want to save other and we should not stop them from doing that. A dead rescue worker’s father, Carter Hall stated, “...involved in the profession and sport he so loved.” The worker loved it, but in the end, it brought him to his death. While saving others, he died. If he did not save those people that put themselves at risk, then he would still be alive. More people were put at risk while trying to save someone from a position they put themselves into. Another one of the best examples of this would be in the article ”Helicopter Rescues Increasing on Everest,” ”...they crashed attempting to rescue the second man.” There is extra danger and more risk in trying to rescue others. In this case, the rescuers died. More people died while saving the climber. Even though people choose to save others, they can't save anyone if they’re dead. If rescue services were not provided for people that put themselves at risk, people would not be influenced to go and different from the situation stated earlier, no extra danger would portray. So, even though some people choose to have a career saving others, rescue services should not be provided for people who put themselves at risk because they make a larger hazard for more people while being
