Not only is dangerous to college students’ well-being, but it also threatens the institution of collegiate learning altogether (Stroud, K.). In 2007, there was a shooting at Virginia Tech University, leading to thirty-three people were killed and fifteen were wounded. Many of the victims were students and shot in dorm and a classroom building. The murderer was senior-level undergraduate student. He was diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorders known as selective autism and major depressive disorders. Most people do not know what guns can cause the world.
There have been many innocents of where demonic people choose to walk into a school full of loving people and just shoot them. Recently there was a massive shooting in Florida, resulting in 17 people dead. Students, teachers and family members that witnessed this tragic situation happen or just the parents who will not be able to hug their children(s) bye before school in the morning spoke out to this country and to the President that they have had enough, and they want something done now. Many people argue that they should ban guns just like other countries have to prevent any shootings of any kind, but President Trump has an idea stated in “Trump suggests arming teachers as a solution to increase school safety” by Dan Mercia. That teacher should carry guns on them for the school’s safety, but states that there is already plenty of teachers who are licensed to carry firearms and we should have them raise their hands to volunteer for the training.
More than likely if the student can’t carry a weapon on campus he won't carry it off campus. But if they were allowed to carry it on campus they would more than likely carry it off campus too. So this means the student will be able to defend himself. And it doesn't have to just be school shootings He could be robbed or he could see someone in distress not just in the school but anywhere the student could be.
Parents feel that guns should be allowed on campus so that students and staff can protect themselves in dangerous situations and also by being an American citizen it is one of our Constitutional rights. Guns should be allowed on college campuses because they provide better safety for students, the second amendment, and when requirements for carrying a weapon are in place. Several studies mention that licensed concealed carry weapons aren’t involved in crimes that happen on campus. Certain individuals that do commit crimes on and off campus, generally don’t go through background checks to obtain legal concealed weapons. Gun permit requirements vary by state but most require that applicants are the legal minimum age, complete a safety course and have sound criminal and mental histories (Collins). Allowing students to carry concealed weapons on campus could be considered dangerous; however, having these students’ complete safety courses and go through testing that proves they are mentally capable could prevent it from being dangerous. Certain campuses also don’t allow students to carry conceal in classrooms or in dorms.

To begin with, we are living in one of the most violent time in the last decade. There has been more mass shooting in schools and colleges than ever before. Government can not seem to find a solution for this mass shooting. This brings us to the main topic of whether or not we should allow guns in college campus. There might be some benefit of carrying guns in college such as making the shooter afraid and prevent a mass shooting.
In order to nurture a healthy learning environment at America’s schools and universities, it is critical that students as well as faculty feel safe on campus.
