Andrew Jackson should no longer represent our nation on the twenty-dollar bill. He was opposed to the idea on paper currency, so why is he on paper currency now? He wanted to continue to use silver and gold (“specie”) as a currency, and viewed paper currency as an abomination. Article 1, Section 10 states, “No State shall… make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts” (). Jackson and the founding fathers believed that paper currency was an opportunity for lazy scammers to defraud those who have worked hard. Obviously that mind set of keeping gold and silver coins as currency did not stay throughout the years, and the nation switched to a paper currency. Dysentery was a disease due to the uncleanliness during the time that caused an infection in the small intestine (). Her medicine helped the soldiers recover in a day, so they could continue fighting. While being a nurse she cooked for soldiers and became a spy. She also was the only women who ever played a decisive role in planning and carrying out a military operation. Harriet Tubman helped lead the Combahee River Raid where more than seven hundred salves were rescued during the gunboat’s passage river (). She escaped slavery and continued to fight against it in every way that she
