Hello Everyone. I am looking forward to getting my degree and working as an parole officer in the state of Texas. This has always interested me since I was working in a jail some years back. I would see parole officers come in and some would actually talk to us about going to school and becoming parole officers. Since I also have about 7 plus years of experience in corrections for the state prison system I would be qualified to be on a parole board at a prison. I have postponed going to school for so long and now I'm in a position to pursue my education without any interruptions now and that is a wonderful feeling to have, so I have no reason for fail. I do see myself being a parole officer because I have wanted it for so long and I think that I can be a great asset to my state and agency or my career path are having a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, a clean and clear background check, strong computer skills these are just a few. I'm very excited to be pursuing my degree and I can not wait to achieve my goals and finish college and begin a new career on a different path in criminal justice. When I first started in corrections I never dreamed that I would last as long as I did because I never had a desire to do anything like it but after being in it for a while I fell in love with criminal justice and I have never lost interest in since. I went from being an aerobics instructor for the military and a mother to an officer and I must say that the transition was smooth. The reason why I want to go into the career path so bad is because I've done corrections for so long and the I just want a better and bigger change so that I don't have to do shift work and work 6 days and sometimes more than that being that we are so short of staff in
