What They Do
There are many different types of things police officers do. For example, they respond to all emergency and nonemergency calls. They patrol assigned areas, which means if there is something suspicious going on at a certain place, they check everything out and make sure everything is running smoothly in that place. They keep an eye out on the streets making sure drivers aren’t doing anything bad and traffic is being backed up. If a vehicle was called in, they will go out and search for it and run the tags to make sure the car isn’t violating any rules and it is all up to date on its payments. If crime scene investigators find something at the scene of a crime they hand it over to the officers and from there, the officers securely

After having a diploma you need to go to graduate their training academy before going through the “on-the-job training” as they call it. To be eligible for the training you must be a U.S. citizen that is 21 years or older. You also need to be able to pass physical and personal tests.

I also wanted to become a police officer since a very young age and I always stuck with that. My aunt was a police officer and she ended up ranking up and is now high up in the Philadelphia Police Department and I always looked up to her as a role model because of how much she always used to put on the line working out in philly. I also found out how much police officers really do. Like it’s more than just arresting people. It’s a pretty difficult job and I am interested in the challenge. After researching this career, it made me want to become a police officer even more. I would love to give back to my community as much as I can and I think this is a great career to do
