College. A time of discovery, enlightenment, and personal growth. Obtaining a college degree is a fantastic way to improve the chances of obtaining a high paying job, but college is not free. In fact, many students now face the problem of being able to afford college. That is why many students enter a work study program, but jobs are scarce, especially in Bowling Green.
We tend to believe that in order to live happy we must go to college and getting a head start. Yes, I can agree with the fact that college helps us by becoming more advanced and having a little more experience than most. Most jobs today don’t really need experience in order to be successful. For example, Steve Job, he dropped out of college and was still able to become a successful person. Job, had passion and creativity.
Not everyone has to attends college to do what they want in life or to earn their dream career. “When we praise people who do work that is straightforwardly useful, the praise often betrays an assumption, they had no other options” (Crawford ). People will not only be able to provide for their self, but also their family (“Why Should You Go to College?”). Since college makes it easier to receive a nice paying occupation people would be able take care of their family as well as themselves. College may cost a ton, but most people earn all the money back, because people that attend college accomplish great occupations.

I bet if you took those smart and motivated people and put them out into the work force, they would earn more than other people.” (The Choice, Epstein, Holly. 2012.) College allows you to do many things such as unlock opportunities, become more independent, and explore your life long options in the area of work force you want to pursue. “Thanks to all the knowledge, skills and experience you’ll gain in college, you’ll be able to adapt to a greater variety of jobs and careers.”
From a young age I seemed to be under the impression that college was the only path for everyone. When I got to high school the tables were really turned and there were many options laid out on the table for me. But I had always wanted to go to college and by the tenth grade I knew I wanted to go into the business field. My mother and father both work very hard for all the money our family needs. My father is a postman and my mother works as a secretary at my high school.
We are in college, so somehow we thought college is useful and that’s why we are attending. That’s it. However, I quitted ignoring this issues because my friend gave up to transfer to UC Berkeley because of too expensive tuition. And another friend is struggling to get a job even though she got the degree from the No.1 university in Japan. I have had a confidence that every should go to college and my college experience is certainly useful, but I started confusing.
Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Through college, that job is that much closer in the grasp. Through college, a person can perform at an elite level and really push themselves for greatness.
Doing what I love and being able to support myself and loved ones is important to me. I am a very independent person and I like to do things my way. I like to set individual goals everyday, whether that means doing my homework before a certain time, or completing something for the week. They help me get my work done on time and efficiently.
As long as I can remember, I knew that college was going to be part of my future. That is because I always knew what my family expected out of me. College is not only important to me for the reason of making my parents proud, but for making sure that I create more out of myself, as well. With a higher education, I will have more job opportunities available, potentially be able to earn higher income, and obtain more useful life skills than somebody who does not have a college education. To begin, having a college education under my belt is important to me because I will have more opportunities for a job, after I complete my four years.

It is important to have goals because it can focus my acquisition of knowledge, and helps you to organize your time and resources to make the most of your life. Some examples include getting a job, having a family, being a successful business person, becoming famous, etc. It is also important to have goals because it can motivate you and keep you active. One important goal for me is to go to college so I can have a good education, become more social, and find something I want to do when I grow up.
Attending college wasn’t an obligation of mine but a choice that I took. My reasons are probably just like everyone else’s at my age. I wanted a better life for myself in the future that didn’t involve living paycheck by paycheck. Obtaining a college degree has such a strong influence on one’s life. College has been a dream of mine since I was little.
What makes people decide whether they want to go to college? Throughout school, teachers, counselors and parents always talk about college and how important it is. Parents even start funds for their kids for college while taking them on college tours and interviews. Showing and giving kids an opportunity to see what going to college will be like. There may be just as many reasons kids may not want to go to college, but with that are also some good reasons to go.
Although college is stressful and time consuming , having your dream career, is a huge life achievement. Having a job isn’t the same as having a career “I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as 'making a life”(Maya Angelou). If you sell yourself short by not going to college you’ll end up working just to make ends means not because it's what you enjoy doing, it's due to your family counting on it. Those who go to college will end up having a better future than those who don’t. I agree that going to college is more beneficial because my view on the topic states that in order to have a secure and clear future you must go to college.
I argue that even though there are some examples of successful people without a college degree, everybody should go through this stage of self-development. The years in college give you knowledge, improve your soft skills, and connect you with other bright people who can help you get to the top in the future. The

Going to college will help me get accustomed to the pressure of the real world and will give me the opportunity to become independent. Graduating college is my number one goal in life. It would be an awarding payoff for all the hard work and dedication to my studies throughout high school.
