“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all,” said Aristotle. Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, was absolutely, undeniable correct by saying that even the most respected knowledge is worthless without the passion or heart. Even though he was a philosopher from centuries ago, his ideals apply today. Going to college and graduating with a degree is only the beginning of my young life. When one is taught to care about their family and community, it is their goal to use their education to benefit those around them. I plan on using my education from college to benefit my family and my community in any way I can.

I am an emotional person and this comes with a lot of drama, which means things take a toll on me. No matter how ridiculous I act about miniscule things, they always comfort me and give me much needed wisdom. Approximately three months ago, I came home crying because of all the stress caused by college application, scholarships, and workload of school work. For example, one day I came home my my mom was lying on the couch watching television. She noticed I was upset and embraced me, which made everything better. This type of circumstance happens often but my parents always handle them with kindness and sensitivity. My parents have been married for twenty-two years and had two children, my sister and I. They both attended college to become registered nurses. Times were hard on my family but they knew that they had to find a way to provide for their children. They graduated college and tell me every day that I should go to college to further myself. I thank them for always pushing me to be a better person. I want to repay them, if that is possible, by showing love, kindness, and selflessness towards them. My plan to accomplish this is by giving them a paid vacation after I graduate college and my finances are stable. My parents mean the world to me so whatever I can do to show my appreciation I will do
