Have you ever wanted to be done with reading and never look at a book again? Then you would love life in the city described in Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. In Montag’s city, books are seen as evil, the government has even changed up some jobs. Today firemen help save people and put out fires, but after the year 2020 they change up the job and start to only burn books. Books are burnt on the spot and inside the house which they are found in, taking the house and everything else with them. Now of course there are people out in the world that hide books even if it puts their life at risk. It’s up for people to help get books back again even though the government will do anything in their power to stop them. Faber meet Montag a year before they became friends; they meet each other in a park and Faber gave Montag a card with his name and number on it, luckily Montag never threw that card away and was able to become friends with Faber. Faber and Montag become such good friends in a very short period of time, in a matter of three weeks. Montag was willing to kill to keep Faber safe, “The captain’s dead. He found the audio-capsule, he heard your voice, he was going to trace it. I killed him with the flamethrower.” Faber was willing to risk getting caught for Montag, “I deserve everything. Run, for God’s sake. Perhaps I can delay them here-” These risk that they took for each other is only something true friends would do. Even with all of baggage that Montag carried around he was still able to find someone that accepted him for himself and was willing to do anything for his safety. This one true friend that Montag has found caused happiness to be reborn into his life, after all the darkness he had
