Canada is a very unique place with an interesting culture, intriguing history, and a wide variety of physical features that make up its geography. It is located north of the United States and also shares some physical features with this country. Canada's history and culture is of Native Canadian and European influence, with French dominating the country's culture. Canada today is a developed country with a strong economy and democratic government. Canada is the second largest country in the world with a location that is far north, with cold climates and rich natural resources. Just north of the United States, Canada shares some well known physical features wth this country including the Rocky Mountains, Niagara Falls, and the Great Lakes. Beyond the border and farther north, Canada stretches up to the Arctic Ocean, where the land is covered with ice year-round. The location of the country effects the climate there greatly. For example, much of central and northern Canada is considered a sub-arctic climate. The country is also very rich in natural resources including fish, minerals, and forests.
