“A pair of star crossed lovers take their lives:”(I.I.6). In Romeo and Juliet, Capulet causes the majority of the tragic events causes the majority of the tragic events to take place. The summary of the play is that Romeo and Juliet were mad in love but, there families were in a long feud. That feud eventually resulted in the end of the two star crossed lovers via suicide. But, many people in the play may have carried more weight for the death of the two lovers. Capulet rushed the wedding, he was harsh on Juliet, and his constant persistence led Juliet to make rash decisions. That is why he is the one who should be the most responsible for the deaths of the two lovers. Capulet rushed Juliet’s and Paris’ marriage. “Sir Paris, I will make a desperate tender Of my child's love: I think she will be ruled.” (III.IV.2070). When Capulet made the wedding a day earlier he caused a domino effect. He tried to control Juliet and make her marry Paris without her wanting too. He tried to do everything which fell apart when Juliet drank the potion that made it seem she is dead but she is in deep sleep. He did not care for his child’s opinion on not marrying Paris. He kept on calling Juliet really mean names. “Hang thee, young baggage! disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday,”(III.V.161). This quote shows Capulet does not really care of his daughter Juliet with this quote from the play. Capulet also states if Juliet did not marry Paris he will never care of her ever again. His mean words cornered Juliet to drink the potion to make her sleep for 42 hours. His violent actions and words helped the tragedies happen in the play. Capulet even threatens to hit Juliet. "My fingers itch”(III.V.170). The abusive presence that Capulet has on Juliet leads her to drink of the potion which ultimately led to the death of the married
