Decision making, a physiological process in which humans can be seen evaluating theoretical outcomes and adopting one they fancy. Having the ability to see and evaluate every single item before someone is a rare privilege that is not realistic for the common man. Although, taking decisions quickly under pressure is a vital skill: it is more important to understand how and when to act in various circumstances. Reaching a timely decision could be done through the evaluation of factors such as the benefits, negatives, worldwide effect, and whether it is worth the time and resources being allocated to the given decision. Throughout the years of Tom and Daisy’s marriage, Tom has been unfaithful and cheating with Myrtle Wiolson. After Myrtle gets into an altercation with her husband, she runs out of the house, where she then spots “Tom” speeding down the road. Akin to Daisy, Myrtle is in love with Tom’s wealth, his image. In fact, the person speeding down the road was not Tom, but Daisy and Gatsby in Tom’s yellow coupe. Myrtle is not about to physically see Tom, but it doesn’t matter; she is in love with his image, not him: which is enough for her to decide that the optimal course of action is to run from her husband to Tom.
