Family is the most important thing to me and it will always trump everything else in my life. They are the people you get when you are born. Who instill morals and belief in you that help you grow into the kind of person you are today. They are there for you when there is no one else to turn to and they are the shoulder you can lean on in a time of need. They are so influential in your life and the connection you have with your family is unique. However, when a family member passes away it tends to leave a hole in your heart and it feels like a part of you is missing. Because of the deep connections, you are thrown into a roller coaster of emotions due to their loss, but in the end, you are happy that they have found peace. Labrinth speaks of this when he sings “I wished you the best of all this world could give/ and I told you when you left me there’s nothing to forgive”. Labrinth is explaining that he would give the world for this person and that the person should not feel guilty or sorry for leaving him to go to a better place that will have them happier. I know that people, including me, always wish that could spend more time with their family and that they would live forever but that’s just not possible. I realized that the longing for someone to stay with you when you know there is a better place that they could go is selfish and hinders their happiness. I understand that the person leaving me should not have to apologize for leaving because I would only want what is best for that person.
