Franklin Delano Roosevelt was loved but many people because he impacted the lives of a lot of people for the better. He was a president who suffered from polio and started his presidency during the worst economic collapse in the history of the world and stayed commander in chief during the greatest war yet. Despite his many challenges he is still one of the greatest presidents that we had. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (F.D.R.) was born on January 30, 1882 in Hyde Park.when he was a child his parents told him what every he put his mind to he can overcome any obstacle that comes his way and also his parents said to to help people because what you give you get.When he was a kid he loved leading. He used this saying in his daily life and during his presidency. F.D.R. was diagnosed with polio when he was 39. He swims for exercise to treat his polio and he never let his disability affect his attitude. Just a year before he became president of the U.S . The country was in the worst economic collapses in history called the great depression . Henry Hoover was the president before F.D.R and made the country worse because he didn’t really do anything to fix the country. The American people want a better life and voted in FDR, the majority people disliked President hoover. President Roosevelt fixed everything that went wrong the stock market took off and more jobs were created. So F.D.R came up with his plan called the New Deal. He used radio to take to the american people and the new deal. The New Deal was a policy that make the rich pay more on the taxes so the bank could pay off debt to gave to the middle class so they can get some money.
