Is Google Making Us Stupid? For over a decade we as a whole have been spending more time on the internet. The internet has given us somewhere to find anything we need at godlike speed. “A few Google searches, some quick clicks on hyperlinks, and I’ve got the telltale fact or pithy quote I was after.” (Carr) It now acts as a universal medium for searches. Though is it really helping us? “the Net seems to be doing is chipping away my capacity for concentration and contemplation.”. Moving from a couple pages of a story and then moving to another blog seems to be the max we can concentrate. Reading actual books have come to be a thing of the past to most. Reading more into paper it talks about how it is hard to keep your attention on a longer story or response. Which I can concur it to be true since this article was even quite long to read in one sitting, without wanting to try and move to something else the Google can provide. Google is an amazing tool in which I think we all can agree even the author. But is it worth using every day for any little thing?
