The story and the characters really stood out to me. They really expressed themselves and the setting in the story was very cool to learn about. I enjoyed the pictures in the book because they guide the reader into the setting and the time period in the book. I recommend this book to people who are interested in learning about World War II and people who are interested in biographies and survival stories. One of my favorite quotes from the book was “A lifetime of glory is worth a moment of pain.”
A young boy whose only dream was to become a Jackboot is now crushed after experiencing the havoc and pain they put thousands of people through. A boy with no name, no family, and no record of his past is doing all he can to survive during World War ll. Stealing, hiding, rebelling and all at the age of eight. This boy is finally given the name of ‘Misha’ and he goes through disasters while meeting new people along the way. Everything is starting to go good for him again, but the day the trains come is the day his life changes for good.
and I had no idea what it was about just based off of the title. It was an easy read, and I enjoyed reading it at the same time. It always had you curious as to what will happen and how everything will play out. Through the whole book, it keeps you curious as to if he will get convicted or not and you do not find out until the very end. The only downside is that I did not like the way it was written.
For this reason, I couldn’t put this book down. In addition the book just left you biting your nails the whole time. I had to include this because if anyone everyone that I know that has read this has said the say thing. This book is a definite nail biter. To conclude this is the BEST book I have ever read!
This book was interesting for me because it allowed me to relate to a character. I love reading novels that not only allow me to feel a connection with a character, but allow me to relate to their personality or
It has a ⅘ rating on commonsensemedia.org, a 4.4/5 rating on goodreads.com , and a 4.8/5 rating on dogobooks.com. It is also like by 97% of google users that voted. This shows that a lot of the people the read this book really liked it. This book is an action-packed, yet enjoyable book that can hook any reader in a heartbeat.
When I read it at first I had just seen this book as a simple one, but as I continued reading I became amazed with the development of the characters, this book becoming one of my favourites from that point of view. The book 's theme is mystery often leaving the reader with unanswered questions, which will be revealed at the end of the book.
It is a great love story only enhanced by the outlandish characters and constant mockery. The pacing of the novel is slow at first until half way through the first volume. The plot then accelerates and by the third volume it is hard to put down. Characters such as Mr. Collins, Mrs. Bennet, and Lady De Bourgh were all hysterical caricatures meant that livened up the novel during times when the plot was thin. The novel would not have been as cohesive or interesting without characters to add comic relief.
The book that I read was Anne of Green Gables. Anne of Green Gables is about a young girl named Anne Shirley. Anne is a talkative, happy, and dramatic young girl despite being orphaned and living an impoverished life. Anne gets adopted by a man named Matthew Cuthbert. Matthew lives with his sister Marilla Cuthbert.
As Humans most of us have experienced the issue of ringworm at one point of time or the other, but do you know that your pets especially dogs and cats can also fall prey to ringworm infection? Ringworm is a kind of skin contamination that is brought about by parasite. This can be viewed as a red roundabout molded rash on the skin. This is an exceptionally infectious contamination, which means it could quickly spread starting with one individual then onto the next and even from people to creatures.
Harry always puts his friends first, and in this book one of the people who are put in danger is his close friend Hermione, and in the end his best friend’s sister is abducted. The book’s theme can be compared to many other books, for example The Hunger Games. Katniss, the main character in that book, volunteers to be a part of a dangerous game so that she can protect her little sister. But the book is also about character development and being a good person.
I’d recommend this book because it’s very entertaining and it’s unpredictable. You may think that you’ve solved a small puzzle but then Sherlock’s deductions show you the contrary and they blow your mind away, they’re not fantasy. In addition, you see Sherlock and Watson’s character development and how they’ve reached a point where they can rely and trust each other. Surely if you read this book you’ll want to read the others and immerse in the fantastic world of Sherlock Holmes, he’ll never disappoint
The Lightning Thief takes place in settings all over the USA and although the year is not specified, we know that the story takes place in the late 1990’s - early 2000’s. The first major setting we are introduced to is Yancy Academy, a boarding school to which Percy Jackson, the main character, is sent to. The most important setting though, is Camp Half-Blood; it is located in Long Island, New York and is surrounded by strawberry fields, forests, and the coast. Other minor settings include Aunty Em’s Garden Gnome Emporium in New Jersey, the Waterland theme park in Denver, Colorado, and the Lotus Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Underworld is another one of the major settings; it is located in/under DOA Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California.
J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter is just the same fantasy journey for many readers. With its outgoing wizard magic, parents believe that this is only a fake story that is based on real life. Because parents believe that this story is artificial, the good parts of the story can be used as a beneficial lesson for children. Harry Potter himself is a good role model for all children because he has overcome all the hardships that has come his way. Harry Potter can also be a person to sympathize with as he lost his parents to Voldemort at such a young age.
Anyway, the novel is noticeably worth to study not only from the aspect of its newness, maybe it leaves more the word 'novel ' but also the effects on the later age, in Romantic literature. Many Romantic tropes seem to be founded beforehand in The Life and Strange Surprizing Adventures of
