Why Is It Impossible To Create A Dystopia

The definition of the term utopia is “an imagined world in which everything is perfect.” It is also often pointed out that utopia spelled one way means “good place”, and spelled another means “no place”. This hints that it is impossible to make a utopia. Everyone has different ideas of utopia, but they always meet up at the same point- a perfect world or society. The idea of a perfect world/society has always appealed to people. However, no matter how hard they work to achieve this, it is impossible, and there are many reasons for this.
The first reason is that the idea of utopia is different for everyone. Everyone is trying to accomplish the right thing- but people have different ideas of exactly what the right thing is. So if you were to create a utopia, not everyone would be …show more content…

Other people’s ideas of utopia could include things such as death and unhappiness. So if you were to create the “perfect world”, then not everyone in it would consider it so perfect, and it would turn very quickly into a dystopia for some.
The second reason is that most people would do anything to achieve it. The leader(s) would have to take away some people’s rights and freedoms to achieve their idea of utopia. You might have to get rid of a few people themselves to accomplish it as well. The book Animal Farm is a good example of the concept of utopia. It started off going well to create a perfect place for the animals to live after the humans left the farm, but the end result was the exact opposite. Laws that started off as
“all animals are equal” ended up changing to “some animals are more equal than others”. The leaders
(pigs) had to eliminate animal’s rights, and even some of the animals themselves to achieve a utopia for themselves, and created a complete dystopia for everyone else. In the end, things were worse than they had started off with the humans running the farm.
