Racial Profiling Essay
Racial profiling is a longstanding, national problem in the United States of America. Racial profiling occurs everyday, in cities and towns across the country, when law enforcement and private security target people of color and humiliating and often frightening them with searches without evidence of anything related to a crime. This profiling is based on race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion. Citizens in America always assume that when an official is detaining a person of color it is because of discrimination but in another point of view it is the right action. I agree that Racial Profiling is wrong but in some cases it is justifiable .

Imagine that you are at the beach and you see someone wearing burkas, what would be your first thought? Now a days you can not trust anything when it comes down to your safety. Muslims, arabs, people from india are now all under racial profiling due to 9/11 . In today 's society most American citizens believe that all Muslims and middle eastern people are terrorist but in reality some are not. When it comes to racial profiling people automatically believe that it is harsh and inhuman as well that the victim had nothing to do that caused racial profiling , when it comes to being frisked and detained. In an article written by “National institute of Justice” it stated “What is clear from the research is that race is a consistent predictor of attitudes toward the police. Hence, some researchers argue that what happens during the stop is as important as the reason for it”. when it comes to law enforcement people always blame the police officer for taken a little more action on detaining someone. What people don 't know is why that officer took that extra action to the person being detained. Racial Profiling can sometimes be good when it comes to securing a nation or one 's own self being. In most cases racial profiling is a bad and unjustifiable act against an individual by his/her race, color, ethnicity. In today 's world we see many thing that can be related to racial profiling but in of the things that sticks out the most is a campaign called “ All Black lives matter”.BlackLivesMatter was created in 2012 after Trayvon Martin’s murderer, George Zimmerman, was acquitted for his crime, and dead 17-year old Trayvon was placed on trial for his own murder. African American made this campaign because they feel and they know that they being racially profiled by authority figures.
