What is racial profiling? The term racial profiling, which was introduced to criticize abusive police practices, it carries connotations of illegitimacy. Racial profiling is a violation of the first two of thirty basic human rights which are all men are equal and do not discriminate. Racial profiling is done in many places and done in many ways, but airports are one place where racial profiling occurs the most. Racial profiling has had a few skyrocketing points in history and 9-11 is one of them. 9-11 was an attack on the U.S by terrorists taking over a plane then crashing it in to the twin towers. Racial profiling is the use of someone’s race or ethnicity by law enforcement whether or not to engage enforcement. There are many people today that use racial profiling for determining who to hire for a job, during security checks and even just to be rude. Racial profiling has not one but many definitions because not just one can be agreed upon. Most of the definitions of it have to do with race, ethnicity, religion and nationality. Although racial profiling is frowned upon today it still occurs in a lot of situations. One of our national problems is racial profiling and it has been going on for a long time. You may not notice it but it occurs every day in towns, cities, and other populated areas. Racial profiling is mostly the judgment of others based on ethnicity which in turn is discrimination. There are many problems with racial profiling as people view the acts as foolish and cruel. Does it serve any purpose? In the most general of terms, racial profiling is a process where people employ a cheap to observe physical characteristics, such as race. There is no real way to stop racial profiling because it is a state of mind, the thoughts of one from another. Do not discriminate is the second of thirty basic human rights. The best possible solution is to not discriminate or in other words do not think bad of someone until you get to know them because it is unfair to them if they have not done anything to deserve the treatment they are getting. If someone is applying for a job and their ethnicity is not to your liking you should not just turn them down due to their ethnicity. Discrimination is a term that means you do not like someone based on things like race, gender, or just because they do not think like you do. Racial profiling is generally acknowledged now by police as real and not imagined. But people need to focus on prevention. There can be many ways to hinder or try to stop racial profiling. Nine ways to help prevent racial profiling are agency reviews, citizen feedback, data collection, conduct Violator survey, profile prevention training, Human Diversity and Sensitivity Training, community outreach, Implementation, and Evaluation and Considerations. These are a few of probably more that could help prevent racial profiling
