Racial Profiling
The controversial topic of racial profiling has generated a lot of debate in recent years. Law enforcement authorities' use of a person's race or ethnicity as grounds for suspicion and investigation has drawn ongoing criticism, examination, and debate. A contentious and divisive subject, racial profiling has generated many spirited debates and close examination. While some contend that it is a crucial tool for law enforcement to combat crime and ensure the public's safety, others see it as an example of discrimination that feeds into negative stereotypes and threatens civil rights. Regardless of one's position, racial profiling is still a complicated and bitterly contentious matter that demands careful examination.

According to Williams, Neighbors, and Jackson (2003), persons who are the targets of racial profiling may suffer from psychological discomfort, anxiety, and a decline in trust in the justice system. Such incidents can make people reluctant to call the police for help when necessary, which could exacerbate already-existing social problems like crime and violence (Williams, Neighbors, & Jackson, 2003). Additionally, racial profiling has adverse effects on society as a whole, in addition to harming individuals. According to Williams, Neighbors, and Jackson (2003), racial profiling can support systemic racism, reinforce unfavorable preconceptions about particular racial groups, and fuel a cycle of prejudice and oppression. These sociocultural repercussions can therefore cause social conflict and a loss of cohesion and trust within the community. It can often lead to racial profiling as it promotes many negative stereotypes of certain races or ethnicities. One common place, racial discrimination leads to racial profiling is schools and universities. For instance, racial profiling has been shown to cause detrimental effects toward a students mental health. According to Bravo et al. (2021), racial profiling can result in sentiments of rage, irritation, anxiety, and despair, which can contribute to poor academic performance and reduced graduation rates. Additionally, the study conducted, showed results that pupils who were subjected to racial profiling reported higher levels of stress and worse levels of self-esteem than their counterparts who were not subjected to racial profiling. This is especially troubling because mental health concerns can have a significant influence on students' academic and personal lives. Furthermore, racial profiling can cause students to feel isolated, fearful, and distrustful of authority figures, making it difficult for the students to form positive relationships with teachers and administrators. To guarantee that all students have equal opportunities to excel academically and maintain good mental health, schools and universities must take initiatives to address and avoid racial
