Project Statement Music plays a vital part in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Music is all around the city. There are not many places an individual can travel to within the city of Atlanta where music will not be heard. Throughout the Atlanta area, there are a plethora of sounds and music that one may hear and be amazed by what they hear. Atlanta, Georgia is known for having music that is unique, moving, and special to the area. From Atlanta's soulful blues to its edgy hip hop music, Atlanta, Georgia has music that cannot be heard or successfully duplicated anywhere else in the nation or the world. Many of the music cultures and societies in the Atlanta have a rich history that proceeds the culture. Along with the extensive list of music cultures in Atlanta that have amazing histories, Sisters Chapel takes a close spot near the top. Sisters Chapel is rooted on one of the most prominent institutions of higher learning and African American excellence in the country. There is no other music culture in Atlanta that is as rich and historic as the music culture from Sisters Chapel at Spelman College. The music that flows from this esteemed chapel is incomparable. Additionally, I believe the Sisters Chapel will continue to grow and evolve and help shape the lives of more generations of students who will enter the AUC. The music that can be heard at Sisters Chapel is amazing. The music culture is unparalleled. As a result of Sisters Chapel being set on a prominent campus, it needs to be nurtured and maintained in order for it to continue to be an oasis for the students of the AUC. Above all, Sisters Chapel provides a safe haven for students in the AUC to worship, learn, and gain personal
