One of the biggest issues in America is crime. There are a lot of factors that influence the crime problem in America. A huge issue with crime in America is that people commit crimes for a lot of reasons, but when it comes to the big picture money is the number one reason. There are a lot of theories as to why there is crime in America. Many believe that a bad family life, location of residence, and poverty hold a few of the answers to why an individual becomes involved in criminal activity.
Crime Rates Americans have long believed that crime is on the rise in the U.S., even in years when it was sharply in decline. Worrall (2014), Many were convinced that crime and the health of the economy were positively correlated” (pg. 3). The economy and the rate of crime are connected because people commit crimes when they need money and resources to provide for their families. The media shows reports about crimes that might create an idea that crime is on the rise, even though the actual crime rate have not always supported that idea.
