Three Prolific Americans I am going to be comparing and contrasting Sonia Sotomayor Franklin D Roosevelt and Wilma Rudolph. The first person you will be hearing about is Sonia Sotomayor she was born in 1964 and she is currently 63 years old. She is well known for being the first Latina Supreme Court Justice.

Calvin Coolidge was president of the United States from 1923 to 1929. Calvin was born on July 4, 1872 in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. John, his father, was a farmer who worked in the Vermont House of Representatives and the state and with other local offices. He helped his father sell apples and doing chores around the store and at the farm. His mother, Victoria, died when was was twelve and his sister Abigail died several years later.
By believing in this power he was able to make transformations in the federal government which are still useful today and many people are happy because of his works. There are two major ways that Theodore Roosevelt transformed the role and responsibility of the federal government. The first transformation made was the reservation of the natural resources which were being abused and used to benefit only few people. This was quite different from what those before him had done Theodore Roosevelt as a president was able to secure more than two hundred and thirty million acres of land which would be reserved for the benefits of the society rather than individual benefits. He was William Mckinley 's vice president so when McKinley was assassinated Theodore became the youngest president of the United States. Theodore had a great appreciation of life he wanted everyone to be equal. Theodore’s childhood was about as normal as every other child except he had poor eyesight and asthma.

President wilson was a early 20th century president who sought to reform american society for the better. His reform focus during his presidency ranged from economical reforms to labor laws. He used his position of power with reform in mind in turn making him successful in bringing about positive changes to american society. Wilson did things such as create the Federal Reserve Bank in hopes to help stabilize the economy. Wilson was also strong supporter of labor laws which made him popular in the eyes of the working class.

While not every aspect of it was successful, the rights of women, fighting against child labor and limiting the control of trusts and monopolies were three distinct successes of that time. Even before the progressive era, women challenged their place and articulated new visions of social, political and economic equality. The progressive era was a turning point for women as organizations evolved fighting for equal rights. Woman began to become very involved in a variety of reform movements.

Many critics question his success in his presidency, while others glorify this battle torn American hero. His presidency was spontaneous. He did not know he was going to become the president, but fate worked its grasp around Roosevelt’s future, turning him from a new Vice President into the youngest appointed President in history. His energy inspired some, and turned away others.
As I reflect over the past presidents of the United States, I realize that there have been many triumphs, as well as many trials. These successes and failures have influenced the nation to be the way it is in the present time today. President Taft and President Wilson had many accomplishments and failures that I have recently learned about that caused me to reflect on the history of the United States presidents. Through their accomplishments, as well as failures, there is much to be learned and remembered.
