WHY MEN DON'T LISTEN & WOMEN CAN'T READ MAP is a fun filled, joyful and eye opening book. This book consists of 11 chapter that will attract the reader which is bold, assertive, factual and based on scientific research. Though politically incorrect but what the book comments is scientifically and socially correct. However, in this book review I will only cover the chapter that I think suitable and most catching to my eyes reading. This book was written by Allan & Barbara Pease. They are husband and wife. It sets the tone of this book. It tells the reasons why men have acted the way they do. It states that man and woman are different, not better or worse but different. It takes us into bygone era our forefather era to explain the reason why man and woman have acted the way they do. In this chapter, the author has explained the different character of men and women through some sub-topic to attract the reader. Through the reading, in this chapter, the author gives an example of a simple argument between men and women from daily life and how makes the men and women different. It elaborates in details for example about why women have better hearing and that given an advantage which contributes significantly to what is called 'Women's Intuition' and is one of the reasons why a woman can read between the lines of what people say than men. However, even women are better at differentiating the sounds but men can point to where they are coming from. Furthermore, in this chapter the reader can tell why the author highlights the word same species but a different world. It makes we think that the sexes process information differently. Because of these needs, men and women's brains developed specific areas to handle each skill. Men have a specific brain location for sensing direction so they find that easy to do while women have specific areas for speech. ‘’Why Men Can Only Do One Thing at a Time’’ is a real highlight from the author in this chapter. Men’s brains are specialized. Compartmentalized. A male brain is configured to concentrate on one specific, dedicated task at once and most men will tell you they can only do 'one thing at a time'. When a man stops his car to read a street directory, what is the first thing he does with his radio? He turns it down! Most women can't understand why this happens. She can read while listening and talking so why can't he? The answer is that a man's brain is configured for one thing at a time because of fewer connecting fibers between the left and right hemispheres, and a more compartmentalized brain. A woman's brain is configured for multi-tasking performance. She can do several unrelated things at the same time, and her brain is never disengaged, it is always active.
