An article published December 3rd by the New York Times recounted two of the worst mass shootings committed by individuals in the last decade.
One of these took place on the Virginia Tech campus on April 2007 when a man with a Walther P22 Pistol and Glock with 50 rounds of ammunition went on a rampage, killing 32 innocent people. The second handgun massacre occurred in Binghamton New York when a Vietnamese immigrant was able to acquire a handgun, which he used to shoot 13 people in the immigration station with his handgun. This lays out in an obvious manner that handguns are frequently used to massacre humans, and measures need to be taken that prevent these shootings from happening
